On behalf of the Boogie the Bridge team & coaches, I would like to congratulate everyone who ran, walked, volunteered, and were part of Boogie 2017. This community health event would not be possible without your love, kindness and support that brings Boogie together for all of us. The 2017 event was a huge success and our community (you) and your commitment to the core values, inspire a whole city to get active. Wow! Thank you. The community felt your wonderful energy and support leading a movement towards wellness in Kamloops. Your outstanding commitment inspired our largest attendance to date: 2879 participants and together we raised over $150,000! What a great way to celebrate Boogie's 20th anniversary and create a huge impact on community wellness. Coming right up: Please keep your health and happiness going. We have 3 fabulous clinics starting up this May, and you are ALL invited. If you were part of the Boogie training - keep your happiness going. If you had to miss the spring training: WE MISSED YOU! Please come join us for our next exciting clinics. Here are our 3 unique offerings for May:
Please email anytime: joberry@telus.net KAMLOOPS — The time remaining before the CFJC Boogie the Bridge is quickly dwindling. There is only 3 weeks remaining in his training regime, and Adam Donnelly is making progress in his efforts to run the 5-kilometer Boogie. This week he took time to document those efforts, and show us more about what RUNCLUB is all about.
With only 3 weeks left in our training schedule, Boogie the Bridge is just around the corner. Which means the training those of us in RUNCLUB are going through is getting more challenging, as we progress in our ability to run longer and further. “There’ll be some fatigue now,” RUNCLUB founder Jo Berry explains. “You get past that ‘I’m stoked to start training’ and hit about week six and things aren’t so exciting anymore. But guess what happens after that low? The high is going to come again, and everything is going to feel great.” For some of the first time RunClubbers, the training for Boogie has been challenging, yet fun. Acacia Schmeitenknop says training has been tough, but she’s enjoying it. “As the running intervals get longer, I find myself pushing harder and harder,” Schmeitenknop says. “It’s become a lot more challenging as weeks have progressed.” There’s still time to sign up for the CFJC TV Boogie the Bridge, which takes place on April 30th, 2017. Three weeks till Boogie 2017 - our 20th Aniversary Locations for Week 5 |
