Daily Reflection : Jump Jump Jump :
Many of you walked through the door this week and faced your fears. This is a big step into creating more life, more fun and increasing your health and happyness. I think its safe to say that almost everyone in that room had done the same thing at some point. Jumping through our fears can become a “ practice” and it can get easier and easier with each “ jump” into the unknown. Many of us started by joining RUNClub and then that has lead to trying all sorts of new things : entering events, travelling for running; trying other sports ( e.g. - snow shoe) ; talking to someone we don’t know; reaching out to each other; new friends etc.
This all adds up to creating a big juicy life and creating endorphins in our ‘ movement’. Laughter is such a movement into creating a healthy life.
Congratulations for jumping into your fear. It takes courage to try new things and it takes courage to be kind. Every year I try to do at least 3 things that make me feel like throwing up ( nerves). What else will you do this year to create positive stress and growth?

What makes running such a potent cerebral enhancer is its ability to spark neurogenesis: the growth of new brain cells. How it does this is still a mystery. It could be because moving outdoors induces increased blood flow, or limits the production of stress hormones like cortisol, or some combination of reasons. However it happens, running could be a better antidepressant than anything you'll get from a pharmacist.
When our brain chemistry becomes healthier so does our perspectives. It transforms the person who sees.

The past has no power over us. It doesn’t matter how long we have had a negative pattern. The point of power is in healing, letting go and doing our best to live in the present moment. What a wonderful thing to realize! We can begin to be free in this moment!
Movement assists us in believing in ourselves. I will never forget the first 10K I completed. “who me”? and “ How is that possible” … and “ did I actually really do that? “ . It was a huge ah-ha moment for me and changed the way I viewed myself, and began to change my self defeating beliefs and the negative self-talk i had endured my entire life. Taking a step into our own growth and healing happens when we join RUNClub. We are changed. At RUNClub we “ practice “ in our thinking and language so that new patterns emerge and new perspectives. Way to go for joining ! We are so very grateful that you did.
